06/06/17 UPDATE - Sadly, I learned today that two of the fine young men that ran this establishment were involved in a tragic car accident. One hurt badly and the other has departed. I don't know the family but I pray for them.

Will be making the drive from Chester soon!!

Man that was some serious sandwich!!

Not hero, pita ,wrap, blah blah blah just honest to goodness homemade bread even if it was plain wonder bread style. I must confess it was a great tasting sandwich.

I don't know what possessed me to order double meat.... if I wasn't so hungry I would have eaten just half of the sandwich.it was pretty massive 4 something that was made with regular sized sandwich bread.

If you have a small wait in line, I'm sorry, because I have told a bunch of people about this gem. And I am now doing a 5 star review. Go there and enjoy!

Absolutely my favorite place to eat in all of Central Virginia! It's this simple: EVERYTHING YOU TRY FROM THIS STORE IS O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G!!!!!!!! The family that runs this place is the nicest family you'll ever meet & they are extremely kind to my 2 boys who love their ice cream. (Wait, I love their ice cream too!!!) I'm heart broken for their recent loss though as one of their sons who worked there passed away 2+ weeks ago, and I'll always do my best to support and promote their store.

but next time no double meat and I'll request a little pepper & maybe I'll step it up with a spicy horseradish sauce. Excuse me while I go find some shade to take a nap lmao

When you walk in - walk to the deli counter and pick up a sheet of paper and start checking off how they will build your sandwich. Select your meats, your bread choice etc. If you want double meat - no problem. If you want it grilled - go for it. There are too many choices to explain in this post. Place your paper in the basket and wait for your name to be called.

It's run by 3 brothers from what I gather and you might have a hard time finding 3 nicer folks out there. We got 3 sandwiches that day. We initially ordered two but half way through my corned beef and pastrami, I had to get a liverwurst and onion to make sure that the first sandwich was not a fluke. The other sandwich was a turkey and roast beef.

Best sandwich ever. Meat and cheese were thick and fresh. Cheesebread was homemade and out of this world! Hands down best chicken salad I have EVER had. The only chunks are chicken, I hate when it's crunchy.

The best ham and cheese sandwiches ever! We always order them in bulk for parties. The bread, ham, and cheese are amazing.

I've been driving up and down this stretch of highway for probably 20 years and have never known about this place. From the outside - it looks like a furniture store. "Country Food and Furniture" - I think that people think more of it as a furniture place because there is furniture in the windows. It also has dry grocery goods. If you want produce then you may need to look elsewhere or find a local farmer. The cost is outstanding! You can get a sandwich full of meat in it for about $4. Yes $4. The breads are baked there along with the other baked goods and pies.
