Definitely more than an ice cream shop. Visiting from out of state, the evening special care great and different every day of the week. Excellently prepared. Was more than pleasantly surprised.
We came in 30 mins b4 they closed. A party of 10 (4 are kids ... a servers worst nightmare). The folks here are awesome, they treated us like their 1st customer of the day, not like they were getting ready to close and shut down for the day! The owner must be proud of the staff they have! If not, well they should now after dealing with this crowd! Kudos too all! (By the way, I am in the restaurant business, so I know how much it means to a customer to be treated like I am your one and only customer to be focused on by the host and the server!) Truly A+ !!!
Today they were at the top of their game. Servers were courteous, and kept checking on me. The coffee was fabulous as always. I ordered a veggie omelette with grits and wheat toast. The ample meal arrived at the table less than 15 minutes after ordering. The servers kept my coffee cup full and warm. Food was a delight to see and taste. This trip restored my confidence in this place.
Good food, but customers should not be told a 20-30 minute wait and not have a list for waiting customers names to be called and have them just sit in the small seating area an not be called. Waited 20 minutes and other people were sat before us. The chicken tenders are over breaded. In addition at the end I asked for ice coffee with vanilla and some half and half. Was over charged and the waitress who made the it said "here is your latte" and I said I ordered an ice coffee and she responded "half and half makes it a latte". I have been trained as a barista and a latte is espresso and milk. If the restaurant charged extra for half and half it should be told to customer and name should not be changed.
I returned to Mabel’s for breakfast this morning. My last visit was not a good experience, but was also not typical of service from many previous visits.
Good deal on dollar burger night. The chairs are not very comfortable. The burgers tasted good. The chicken tenders had too much breading. The service was good and friendly. It is a cute place with fair prices
